Police use many abbreviations and codes on the radio and for day to day work.

- Police incident codes - Used to indicate the specific type of incident.
- Police K codes - Used to indicate the result of a job.
- Police 10 code - Used to indicate unit status messages.
- Police event codes are assigned when the job is created, indicating the type of job.
